Seattle's Child: Closet Nursery for One, Please

Side job! When I'm not busy with new Assemble projects, I landed a sweet side-job as a contributing editor at Seattle's Child magazine, writing their brand new Making Home section! First order of business, to show off the closet nursery that my husband and I have put together for our brand new baby Powers, coming late this Fall.

The last day of shooting was a bit ridiculous, so it gave me the idea to make a little Outtake video for promotion. Grady (my chihuahua) was a bit nuts that day, which is who I'm talking to off camera. Enjoy and share the class info!

A Brand New Side Project: Freelance Writing + Business + Brand Consultation

Okay, so I know we usually promote other amazing business ladies and creative teams on Fridays, but I feel the need to (quietly) toot my own horn on this one. After many years freelancing, and just kind of "hearing" about jobs and writing here and there (you may already know I'm an Apartment Therapy contributor), I finally made a website to promote my work. I'm excited about moving forward with freelance writing and brand consulting--don't worry, Assemble is still first and foremost in my heart--but it will give me a chance to help other creative businesses with their branding and business planning. Speaking of, I'm going to be teaching an online class on Skillshare, sponsored by Go Mighty, starting on May 1st. I hope you'll join me if you are looking for a good, positive environment in which to receive a loving kick in the pants to start up that business you've been wanting!
